Test drillings in Mainzer Strasse

In the area of the building at Mainzer Straße 106, the road was also narrowed to one lane. The reason for this safety measure was increased rock falls in this area.

Planning for the necessary rock stabilization measures has now progressed to such an extent that preliminary work can begin. For this purpose, test drillings are expected to be carried out at four locations between Professor-Schlossmacher-Straße and Hoher Steg on Wednesday and Thursday, December 6 and 7, 2023. The drilling vehicle will be parked on the uphill sidewalk, which will therefore be closed during the work. Due to the width of the drilling vehicle, there may also be traffic disruptions in Mainzer Straße. The actual rock stabilization measure is expected to begin in February 2024.

The city council asks residents and road users for their understanding for the disruption caused by the work. In the area of the building at Mainzer Straße 106, the road was also narrowed to one lane. The reason for this safety measure was increased rock falls in this area.
