The photo shows a view of the meeting room. The rows of chairs for the council members are arranged in a semi-circle in ascending order. On the wall behind them is an installation showing the outline of the town of Idar-Oberstein with the coats of arms of the individual districts.

Christmas Concert at JAM

At the "Christmas Concert" on Saturday, December 16, 2023, at the Jugendtreff am Markt (JAM), mulled wine and waffles will create a pre-Christmas atmosphere alongside three musical acts covering the entire spectrum of musical diversity.

It starts at around 8 p.m. with "Die Band", a four-piece student band from Göttenbach-Gymnasium in Idar-Oberstein. On Saturday, they will perform cover songs with ukulele and vocals.

The show continues with Vavunettha and her indie pop sound with a trap vibe. With her lyrics about mental health, growing up and relationships, the singer/songwriter gets to the heart of the matter and speaks to many young people from the soul. Together with her producer Crsy, she forms the duo VAVUNETTHA.

The evening will be rounded off by Soliath Lake. The band led by Steven Werthwein - a member of the cultural initiative JAM ON! - plays a mix of alternative rock and nu metal with rap elements. Well-known in the Idar-Oberstein music scene, they are now on the road with a new line-up.

  • Admission to JAM is from 7 pm, admission costs 5 euros.
