The photo shows a view of the meeting room. The rows of chairs for the council members are arranged in a semi-circle in ascending order. On the wall behind them is an installation showing the outline of the town of Idar-Oberstein with the coats of arms of the individual districts.

10 years of the "kita isst besser" coaching initiative

The 10th anniversary of the "kita isst besser" coaching initiative was recently celebrated in Bad Kreuznach. This is aimed at daycare centers in Rhineland-Palatinate that want to make health prevention, particularly with regard to nutrition, their focus. Since 2013, a total of over 13,800 children in daycare centers and after-school care centers and their parents have been reached. The Nahbollenbach daycare center also took part in the anniversary. It took part in the 2022/2023 coaching round and since then has made a point of teaching the children the basics of a sustainable, healthy diet.

The anniversary event began with an interesting review of the past 10 years of the initiative. This was followed by specialist presentations and an exchange of ideas and experiences. Greetings from Climate Protection Minister Katrin Eder and the Ministry of Education expressed great appreciation for the initiators of the coaching initiative and all those who have set out with them to initiate important projects in their daycare centers.

A further 13 daycare centers with around 1,200 children will take part in the upcoming 2024-2025 coaching round. The new daycare centers were presented in detail and congratulated. The Nahbollenbach daycare center was able to present the results of its process on a display board. Finally, process facilitator and coach Irmgard Lüttiken handed over a large "nutrition box" with all kinds of kitchen utensils and educational materials to daycare center director Silke Fritsch. She thanked Lüttiken for the good cooperation and daycare center consultant Juliane Groß for her support.
