Dance mob for everyone

On Saturday, August 19, 2023, at 8 p.m., the Sebastian Weber Dance Company (SWDC) and the Werner Neumann Electric Trio invite you to the "Cowboys Concert" on Christuskirchplatz in the Oberstein district. The dance mob is a participatory event for anyone who feels like it. Admission is free.

The photo shows three dancers from the company dancing individually on stage platforms outdoors. Behind them are musicians who are also placed individually on stage platforms.
The dancers from the Sebastian Weber Dance Company show short performances from the piece "Cowboys" and practise a simple choreography with the participants.

The "Cowboys Concert" is a mixture of party and performance in which participants learn simple choreography in the style of the production "Cowboys" together with the SWDC dancers and dance live with the band. No previous experience is necessary - the participatory concert is an invitation to everyone to rock out with a fantastic band. Sebastian Weber teaches a choreography using simple pictures, which the participants then dance as they wish. The whole thing is fun and after about 30 minutes everyone is able to dance the choreography together. The concert is framed by short performances by the company.

Groove, soul and more

On Friday, September 1, 2023, at 8 p.m., an open-air concert with the motto "Matti Klein Soul Trio meets Max Mutzke" will take place at the Historische Weiherschleife. The program promises grooves to dance to and lyrics to think about, as well as proximity to great artists from the German groove and soul landscape. Passion and the trio's rich sound, sound worlds, sound journeys and hot solos will not be neglected.

On closer inspection, Max Mutzke is more than just one artist - Max is many. Sounds strange at first, but it has to do with the charismatic singer and songwriter's incredible versatility and, not least, his insatiable creative curiosity. Whether pop, rock, soul, funk or jazz - Max Mutzke has a thousand musical facets at his disposal. Sometimes he surprises his fans with hand-picked hip hop tracks, sometimes with English R&B and soul versions, then he performs selected pieces as classical orchestral versions.

Now he has found partners who are three, but also embody more than that. The soulful groove-jazz mixture that Matti Klein serves up with Lars Zander and André Seidel, his partner from his "Mo' Blow" days, has addictive potential and just as many facets as Max Mutzke. With his various vintage keyboards and on the grand piano, Matti Klein has earned himself a reputation as one of the most interesting young groove jazz musicians on the German scene. He regularly shares the stage and studio with stars such as Sarah Connor, Herbert Grönemeyer and as musical director with and by Ed Motta.

21 wild years

On Saturday, September 2, 2023, the musical "Schinderhannes - wild and free" can be seen at Messe Idar-Oberstein. The story of the notorious robber is told freely, but is based on historical events. The seven soloists - including Sven Hieronymus, the "Rocker vom Hocker" - are accompanied by the Hessian cult band Die Crackers. They contribute 23 songs with hard-hitting rhythms and cheeky vocals in German.

The oppression of the population by the French occupying forces, the nobility, the clergy and the subdued administration becomes a rich source of themes for songs of robbery and freedom, love affairs, hope and love of country. The story of Schinderhannes is also the story of the people of this time, about the longing for freedom and a self-determined life.

The photo shows a group picture of all those involved in the Schinderhannes musical.
The team of the Schinderhannes musical brings the story of the robber chief to the stage in 23 pictures.

Cast: Jott Fürwitt (Hannes Bückler), Lea Hieronymus (Juliane Blasius), Ingrid El Sigai (Mother Bückler, Countess, Lady of the People), Sven Hieronymus (Archangel Gabriel), Sheela Berigai ("Luzie" - Lucifer), Loti Pohl (Father Bückler, robber), Ralf Baitinger (keyboards & vocals), Roland Ludwig Strasser (narrator), Die Crackers (music).
