On Saturday, September 23, 2023, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., anyone who would like to take the German Sports Badge can use the Bein sports field and complete the necessary disciplines.
The "Sports Badge Day" campaign is primarily aimed at people who are not active in a club but would still like to take the German Sports Badge. Of course, clubs that already offer the sports badge can also take part in the campaign. Their participants will of course be counted for the respective club. The organization and implementation of the event is supported by the clubs TV Oberstein, Idarer TV, LG Idar-Oberstein, DLRG, TuS Tiefenstein, SC Idar-Oberstein, DRK Wasserwacht and VfL Algenrodt.
Almost all athletics disciplines - in part or in full - can be completed at the Bein sports facility on the acceptance day. Disciplines that are not successfully completed on this day can also be tested at a later date at the participating clubs. The swimming disciplines can be tested in the swimming pools. It must be clarified with the facilities in advance whether an examiner is available.
In order to reach as many participants as possible, Kreissparkasse Birkenfeld has offered an additional incentive. For every sports badge completed, it donates a sum to the Kuratorium für Sporttalentförderung im Landkreis Birkenfeld.
