Nominated for the 2024 Culture Prize: Tiefenstein Music Association

The Tiefenstein Music Society was founded in 1879 as the Hettstein Music Society and will celebrate its 145th anniversary in 2024. This makes it one of the oldest clubs in the city. In 2004, it was awarded the Pro Musica plaque on the occasion of its 125th anniversary.

With his inspiring ideas, conductor Martin Wendel always manages to create very special concerts with the Orchestra of Generations. Younger musicians can take their first steps in the youth orchestra under the direction of Anne Kröninger.

Highlights from the recent past were the two open-air concerts in 2023 at the Weiherschleife in Idar-Oberstein and in 2024 on the market grounds in Veitsrodt. These showcased the diversity and range of the musical repertoire. In addition to these major events and the traditional annual concert on Christmas Day, the orchestra also performs at the town's Christmas party for senior citizens and at the Christmas tree planting in the Tiefenstein district.

It is not only the music that is important, but also the shared togetherness in extra-musical events throughout the year.

With this diversity, the Tiefenstein Music Association makes a lasting contribution to the cultural life of the town of Idar-Oberstein.
