Nominated for the 2024 Culture Prize: Gemstone and jewelry culture Oberstein

Schmuckkultur e.V. is a cultural association founded in March 2023. The association was born out of the necessity that the Idar-Oberstein community of interest could no longer afford to plan and organize the gemstone cutter and goldsmith market.

The association around the board of Frederik Grüneberg, Andrea Sohne, Sibylle Delzeit and Jörg Wagner has been organizing the gemstone cutter and goldsmith market since 2023 and thus contributes significantly to the promotion and support of the local gemstone and jewelry culture. This market, which traditionally takes place on the 1st weekend in August, has become one of the most important events in our town over the last 26 years and showcases the diversity of the vibrant jewelry and gemstone culture in our region
