Sponsorship award for art and culture of the city of idar-oberstein

Since 2002, the city of Idar-Oberstein has awarded the annual sponsorship prize for art and culture. It is endowed with 2,500 euros and the prize money is sponsored by Kreissparkasse Birkenfeld. The aim of the award is to support and initiate a wide range of artistic and cultural activities and disciplines. It can be awarded for outstanding artistic achievements as well as for special merits in the training of young artists. The prize is primarily awarded to individuals and groups from Idar-Oberstein. Since a revision of the guidelines in 2010, the prize can no longer be awarded to more than one winner. Following a further change in 2024, a jury will decide on the awarding of the prize, which was previously decided by the Culture Committee.
