We are looking for an employee (m/f/d) who has the ability to work independently combined with a willingness to take responsibility and organizational skills, very good knowledge of the relevant legal regulations, strong communication and cooperation skills and who is able to deal with the public in a friendly, respectful and dialogue-oriented manner.
The prerequisite for filling the position is:
- Successful completion of training as an administrative assistant (m/f/d), alternatively successful completion of the first examination for employees in the municipal administration and cashier service (Verwaltungswirt (m/f/d)) or qualification for the second entry-level position - previously career path of the intermediate civil service.
This is a permanent position, which is generally suitable for part-time work, but is to be filled full-time. Depending on qualifications and fulfillment of personal requirements, the position will be graded according to pay group 9a TVöD or A 9 (2.E.A.) LBesG.

Head of the Audit Office (m/f/d)
As Head of the Audit Office (m/f/d), you are responsible for the results-oriented, timely, appropriate and economical fulfillment of the office's tasks, such as
- Audit of the annual financial statements and the consolidated financial statements as well as the annexes to the annual financial statements of the City of Idar-Oberstein
- Audit of financial accounting transactions in preparation for the audit of the annual financial statements
- Ongoing monitoring of payment processing by the city and its own companies, in particular regular and unexpected cash audits
- Examination of contract awards and contract awards for supply and service contracts, in particular for engineering and architectural services
- Audit of the regularity, expediency and efficiency of the administration
- Special audits of specialist offices, operating accounts and tasks assigned by the Lord Mayor in individual cases

The main job contents include in particular

The prerequisite for filling the position is:
- successfully completed vocational training, preferably in the commercial or administrative/secretarial field
- Several years of professional experience in an assistant / executive secretariat

Head of the Technical Department Waterworks / Swimming Pools (m/f/d)
To fill this position we are looking for a
Diplom-Ingenieur (m/f/d) or Bachelor (m/f/d) in the field of civil engineering / supply engineering or a comparable qualification.
The central tasks include in particular
- Head of the technical department and responsible for the city's water supply / swimming pool operations
- Personnel management and ensuring occupational safety in the area of responsibility
- Planning, tendering, construction management, invoicing and acceptance of technical systems in the area of responsibility
- Tendering, coordination and supervision of engineering services according to HOAI
- Negotiations with authorities, agencies, health authorities and engineering offices as part of technical approval procedures and to support planning processes
- Preparation and implementation of public information events including presentation of the plans
- Preparation of statements on planning applications, applications, inquiries and development plan procedures
- Coordination of planning with the public authorities
- Technical support in the preparation of budget and investment plans as well as the identification of funding opportunities and the implementation of funding applications
- Preparation of meeting documents for the City Council / specialist committees and representation of the department at committee and City Council meetings
- Vacation and temporary replacement for the commercial department and the wastewater technology department of the municipal utilities
We expect:
- a successfully completed degree in civil engineering / bachelor's / master's degree in supply engineering (m/f/d) or a comparable field of study as well as relevant professional experience in water supply or municipal supply and disposal (water/wastewater)
- Experience in the water supply industry is desirable
- sound knowledge of VOB and VOL, HOAI and specialist legislation
- Independent work combined with the ability to work in a team, networked thinking and flexibility
- High level of commitment and resilience and willingness to take on responsibility
- Assertiveness as well as cooperation and communication skills
- Very good written and spoken German
- Possession of a class B driving license (passenger car)
- Unrestricted physical fitness for accessing construction sites and difficult terrain
